Ok this is not a good hair bad hair argument just curious. My wife and I are both mixed, me with Puerto Rican with a white great grandmother in there and my wife with Native American on both her parents. Out hair is not the traditional “black hair” kinky but pretty close. I have curls with some str8 pieces and my wife’s hair is curly wavy and even has a natural blond patch of hair. Our daughter was born with curly hair and she is about six months. My mother says it will change because mine became more kinky the closer I got to a year. My mother in law says if she is six months with that hair it is not changing. Who is right
Answer:
Your mom is more likely right. I would say one year is a better estimate. For example, both my brother's and my eyes got darker as we grew older but by the time we were in our early years they had "set" so to speak.
There are no african Americans.
I'm just asking, why is your focus on on black hair texture with all the ethnic groups envolved in your DNA? If your baby is healthy do you really care about hair texture. News flash, this is a good hair bad hair thing. SORRY!
Well neither is right. You will never know its part of her development her biology, hereditary. Its almost like asking when is she going to get a darker complexion, how will you know any of this?
IMO I think you should count your blessings. She is a healthy baby so many ppl have children with Cancer, Sickle Cell etc the last thing on their minds is hair texture and complexion.
Good Luck
