Do some Americans take kids too seriously?
Answer:
I'm sure that some do.
In my case I know that I do exist BUT my children are my world and I love them more then anything, anyone in the world.
To be a good healthy Momma I 1st need to be a happy women.
Not just Americans. There is a worldwide child fetish out there. Too much structure in children's lives and not enough free time for kids to just be kids. Too many parents think they have to do everything possible for their kids to "succeed" that they have to load their children's lives with activities and structure.
George Carlin once asked, "You know what you get if you put 100 young children in the same room? 99 future losers!" Parents dont want to believe that. They think their children are "special."
Do you not have any thing better to do then complain about something that is ignorant?
I think the only concern here is that parents today can get in trouble for anything they say or do to their kids if somebody may think is wrong.
It seems as if there are more of these types of parents out there now than there use to be. I have two kids and understand how hard it is to balance my live and theirs. I think some parents go to one extreme or the other. I like to think my husband and I have a pretty good balance. While we have to take our kids into account on almost every decision we make, we don't let them rule our world. I can't imagine being one of those moms that spends all day running her kids to one lesson or playgroup or game to another. I want my kids to learn to do for themselves and be resourceful at an early age. I don't want to have to entertain them. I don't want to be dressing them when they are 7 and 8 years old. I am also a believer in "if momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy" so I need to focus on me sometimes to keep me happy. I would be miserable if I only focused on my kids.
