Does the onset of early labor contractions rule out the possiblity of induction?

Nope, both my pregnancies, I would begin contractions and would even dialate a little but I still had to be induced.
My first was almost 3 weeks overdue, I was basically in labor almost a month and finally had to be induced.
My second was normal labor at first, well, kind of. I had contractions the night before, I had my regular visit the next morning, my doc asked if I was ready to have the baby today I said really? He said yeah you're 4 cm dialated, but I was not having contractions.
they started up again that night, my water even broke but while in the hospital I was having normal contractions at first but after a while I felt nothing (no drugs either) I called the nurse, they kept adjusting the monitors, the doc came to check on me and they said I had not had a contraction in 2 hours (duh, I kept trying to tell them) after that, tried everything (I was limited because after your water breaks, they want you to stay in bed to lessen risk of infection or whatever) but eventually had to get the pitosin drip.
My body just doesn't want to push the babies out I guess.
It depends...I was in labor so long that they had to give me pitocin to speed up the contractions (which in a way in inducing labor.) I was in labor for 36 hours before they gave me that, but once they gave the pitocin drip to me, 2 hours later my baby was here! Most likely though you won't need it.
This depends on how much you have dilated as well as every case is different and only a doctor could advise it for sure.
In my experience, I had irregular contractions, lost my plug, was dilated 2 cm and started spotting continuously. My doctor was concerned about the steady bleeding and due to earlier complication ( I had slight placenta previa which corrected itself after the fifth month of pregnancy), she was worried that there could be an unexpected abruption or extreme blood loss. So she induced the labor and eventually after three days, my water was broken manually after which point, I had to have an emergency c-section because my labor was not progressing on its own as it should have.
So... as I said before it all depends on your situation and health. Doctors are very good at handling deliveries nowadays and I wouldn't worry too much as things will resolve when the time comes. Best of luck.
