You are barely 4 weeks along now. While the fertilized egg has attached itself to the uterine wall, its still a very tiny blob of rappidly multiplying cells. Most OB's wait until about 8-9 weeks to schedule your initial visit and an internal ultra sound to confirm the approx gestational age. Wait a few more weeks and you'll get to see your little one's heart beating!

You have to be at least 4-5 weeks along for them to pick up the sac. I had an ultra sound at 5 1/2 weeks and all they could see was the sac...no fetal pole or anything. 2 weeks later I had another ultra sound and the heartbeat was 146 BPM.
What did your Dr. say? If he said it seemed normal then I wouldn't worry. I didn't get an ultrasound until I was 6 months pregnant. They just used a wand to pick up the heartbeat which started at about 3 months. Good Luck and Congratulations

I think 7 weeks is the earliest but not always.
I had my first at 10 weeks so don't stress out
maybe go to a midwife or get the doc to check for babys heart beat to reassure you everythings ok

Well..if your last period was on the 8th, you probably didn't conceive until about 2 weeks later so I would think that the embryo is too small to see in an ultrasound. They usually don't do an ultrasound that early for that reason.
