Would doctor perform a Vasectomy for a man who is the only male in his family?
Neither my sister or I have any kids.
Answer:
I had my vasectomy 20 years ago (when I was 21). They asked some boiler-plate questions. Most of the questions were stuff like, “Do you have children”.
They never asked about my siblings. They never actually asked if I was married. They never asked if my wife knew. They didn’t ask if I was the only male in my family.
In fact I told them I had only a daughter. I lied about that. I have no children. I got it with no problem.
I only lied to them to avoid stupid questions. Why, well I was living in the “bible-belt” (Dallas Tx), and not having children is considered taboo, so I often lied about not having them so people would not be judgmental against me.
My borther is my only sibling, and he is 36 with no children. Our father was an only child, so we have no cousins.
My girlfriend is an only child. She had her tubes tied at 27, with no problems. She has no children.
I honestly think, the only reason doctors ask questions, at all, is because they fear that you will change your mind, and sue them for not advising you that the surgery is permanent.
why wouldn't they?
A doctor will do it but they may advise you not too considering that you don't have any children and you may want some. It is possible that you may have to go to a couple of different doctors to find one who will do it but it shouldn't be too hard.
If you pay, they will snip.
They don't care if you are the only male.
They just need to confirm that you do not want any children.
