first of all your doctor should not have refused to care for you. and because he did refuse he should have refered you to someone else to see. now when you go to a doctor in the first trimester they get the funding for that 12 weeks so therefore most midwifes and other doctors wont want to see or book you for 12-14 weeks as they wont get payed as the funding has gone to the first doctor.
but its perfectly normal not to get anytest untill 14 weeks as that is when a midwife would book you and do your first check where they do blood pressure the test stick you wee on to check all normal listen to bubz and your first anti natal bloods good luck to you.

14 weeks is a little late, but it's not unheard of. With my first pregnancy I was about 11-12 weeks, and with my second, I was 8 weeks.
I called my doctor right after I tested positive, and she didn't want to see me until 7 weeks. I think that's about standard.
How far along are you now? I would call another doctor and see if you can find someone who will see you sooner.
There isn't a lot that a doctor can "do" at this point, but the initial ultrasound to see the heartbeat can be done at 7 weeks.
Why didn't he want to care for you? When I went to my first prenatal I was 10 weeks the mid-wife did mention that is the time that's ideal to be seen! As long as you feel fine don't worry, just take your prenatal vitamins, you can buy them over the counter. Good luck!
23 weeks with my first!
I saw my doctor a 4 weeks along as soon as I knew I was pregnant I made the appointment.
Why did the Doctor refuse to treat you??
I wouldn't worry though, as long as you go see your doctor soon. Better late than never!!
It's fine your most important testing will be done later in the pregnancy ie: glucose, Afp and ofcourse they check your urine every time you go in.
You should be just fine at 14 weeks. Plus you'll be able to hear the heartbeat really well by then. There's really nothing they can do more for you at 8 weeks then at 14 weeks. The first appt is really just medical history, weight, blood pressure, urine, blood draw, pelvic and sometimes fetal heart rate.

its fine they do not even do much until that anyway you can look forward to hearing the heartbeat at the first visit getting a papsmear and a lot of tests and paperwork I got in at 8 weeks but I have been with my doc for about 8 years good luck!!
