Exchange a car seat without a receipt?
Answer:
I tried to exchange an item at Walmart without a receipt and they wouldn't do it unless it was the exact same item. I actually drove around to 4 different Walmarts, talk to the managers at each one, the first 3 refused. But, the manager at the 4th store finally let me exchange it. I didn't tell him I was refused at 3 other stores first. I think it just depends on who you talk to, how sweet you are, and if the manager is having a good day.
If they sell that item there and you have the original packaging, they won't have a problem with it.
Kmart and WalMart used to do it simply. They have new rules. They track returns and if you have returned several things in the last 3 months they may give you a problem. But, since you are only exchanging, I don't think you should have too much to worry about. If they insist on a receipt, let the buyer know you want to exchange it for something you just found and know it would suit your needs. Most people don't care.
Normal Wa-mart will put the money back on a girt card, so you can only spend the money at wal-mart. Not sure on Target. Since you are exchaging you shouldn't have a problem, as long as nothing is wrong with the car seat. If all esle fails, sell is on e-bay.
