Sweaty baby??

hey anybody out there got a sweaty baby? My son has sweated terribly ( especially in his sleep) since he was born. He is 6 months old now and it is terrible when he gets up from his nap. i have always heard and read that newborns/infants don't sweat, so am i crazy? Anybody else's baby done this? ( p.s. my first son also did this when he was born/an infant)

Answer:
my son sweats all over the place when he sleeps and has always he use to burn me up when he was a baby. He is 7 now and sleeps in his undies and still sweats uncontrolable.
well, ur first one got by ok, so ur second one would do the same
Newborns don't sweat as the sweat glands have yet to open up. Usually infants start to sweat around 3 months, but it's not unheard for a newborn to sweat.

All babies are going to swet. Also, I would suggest dressing him down and getting the temperature down as well. If he's sweating, it's obviously too hot.
Yeah, you just got a hot blooded boy there. My sons sweated in their infancy, I don't know who told you, but is completely normal. You may be dressing them to much, or it is just in their nature to sweat.

Wait until he is a teenager, then see how much he sweats!
idk wat's wrong, but maybe your keeping your kids too warm, too many blankets, too thick of blankets, heater on too high, heat vent is too near to them

idk check those things (u probably already have though)
My daughter was that way she wake up and be very warm she still get like that if i try to put a blanket on her she sleeps most night with it kicked off the bed. My husband is the same way over heats easily when he sleeps. I say just give him nice jammies to nap in and skip the blanket or let him nap neiked.
My son also did this as a baby. He is now 3 and still wakes up sweaty some times. I think it is pretty normal.
My baby would sweat when he nursed from the time he was a week old. He would get beads of sweat on his nose, and his head would be damp.

Around 2 months he got sweaty feet (constantly no matter what he was wearing and how cool it was).

Now his head sweats in his sleep and he generally doesn't sleep under a blanket and only in a cotton diaper shirt.

His daddy is a sweaty, sweaty man too. Don't worry you aren't doing anything wrong. You would be able to tell if he was overheated by feeling the back of his neck (as per the public health nurse)
I"ve had a couple sweaty babies and they both had heart problems. Surely your pediatrician would have detected a heart murmer by 6 months, though.
My son does the same thing. He could be butt naked and he still wakes up drenched in sweat. He also has a head full of hair and when he wakes up it is soaked. I have heard of other babies doing this but I think when I go for his next check up I'll ask about it. I've never really worried about it because nobody ever told me that babies don't sweat? That sounds crazy!
my son is the same too! he's 13 months now and he has been sweating since he was an infant, esp in his sleep. whenever he wakes up, his head and pillow will be all wet and smelly!! LOL fyi, my firstborn, a girl, also sweats a lot... so i dun think there's anything wrong with your kids.
