Do you think Ebony and Ivory are good names for twin girls?
Answer:
bad names, think about it, makes them sound like a sitcom.
please change their names
I think those are pretty names.
No
I like Ivory, but Ebony sounds like bones. (my opinion)
Dont do it mate!
as soon as I read your question I laughed, their names remind me of the song "Ebony and Ivory" its a really bad song
Mom's right, you're setting them up for all sorts of problems, not just with society, but mainly with each other. Listen to a PARENT.
I think they're fine, but to please your mom, why not give them cute nicknames, like say, mudflap and shrinkwrap? I'll just bet she'll grow to love their given names!!
Sorry but I think it's corny. Reminds me of that song...
You named them that? When they grow up they are gonna make the Menendez brothers look like boy scouts!
i think they're very original... very pretty!
i think t hey just sound really alike but i love the names they are great names. its just ebONY and ivORY its just kind of like not very different you know? but i would definitly keep them they are beasutiful exotic names
I would have the ebony and ivory song stuck in my head constantly, but your the parent you can choose the name, I sure some people don't like my childrens name but it was my choice, I think it's cut though. My daughters are Abby and Gabby.
oh nooooooooo! Ivory is name of soap.
They might feel a bit strange when they're older (maybe middle school age), but I think they're beautiful names, and it's noy a problem. If they do feel weird, don't worry, they'll get over it.
No,,,,,. Check with once with have a rythem... eg : Leela, sheela
Dolly , Gelly ... .
no my sister has 2 bulldogs one white one black with that name. think of something they wont get pickedon about.you know how kids can be with names
I think it's kind of cute together. But if you separate them, like Ebony (last name) and Ivory (last name) , I think Ivory as a name might be a little strange. Reminds me of soap... :(
That is horrible, I'm sorry to be blunt but you asked. All these horrible names hurt kids chances later in life. I have never went into a important meeting and heard "hello let me introduce you to our new VP of sales, this is Kashanda" stop this!
A lesson for everyone else. Don't saddle your children with what you think is "cute". They're human beings that must live with their given names for life.
You just thought of this now (after 7 years)? Next kids... think of them first! Not to be cruel but... these names satisfied you without any thought of the ramifications to them. Anyone that writes that it's their right to name the kids what they want are, at the very least, self centered.
I think the names are cute, which is part of the problem. My husband has a twin brother and they struggled through their childhood trying to make people see them as individuals instead of half of a pair--for instance, people would give them one birthday present to both of them, instead one for each of them, or they'd be assigned chores together, etc.
Giving the girls related names makes them seem more like two parts of a whole, or as if they were permanently joined together.
Maybe you could start calling them by their middle names, or come up with nicknames like Ebby and Ivy that aren't so obviously paired. Definitely NOT Bony and Vory! : )
It's kind of trite.
They are nice, unique names, and I think most kids don't like their name at some point in their lives.
in 4th grade kids can be cruel - but if you already named them there is very little you can do about it - so teach your girls self love
Take all this advice and spare your children some hardships
Those would not have been my first choice in names. They may get some ribbing, kids can be cruel sometimes.
Something you need to think about when naming a child is that name will be with him or her for the rest of their life. What seems cute as a baby may not when they are older. As an adult that name will be there when they have their job. Dr. Ebony or Ivory ?? Ebony or Ivory Attorney at law?? If you mom don't like the names tell her to use their middle names or a nickname.
I agree with your mom on this one and the other people who said that those names are a bit over the top. Kids aren't dolls and should be given names that won't hurt them in school or their professional careers.
thats horrible, i hope this is a joke for the sake of the twins
They are 7 what? Months or years?
Yes- The names are HORRIBLE together!
