How long after a child is born, do you have to wait to take a paternity test?
Answer:
no need to wait, it can be done immediately.
i think 6 mths
I dont think you have to wait at all. Just get the test done.
You can do it right away.
ANYTIME
it can be done the day he/she is born
u couldve had it done when u were pregnant. Amniocentisis. alot of people are doing it now. The men dont like waiting because the whole time they want to care for the mother there is still that burning question. is it mine. or is it not...they want to be free of any worry. They want to help care for the mother and actually know that this is their child. Amniocentisis is when they use a scope through belly button and they can actually see the baby and development and extract fluids. thus DNA to find out if baby is ok and some even find out what sex it is. Medical technology is a wonderful thing. As far as now, u can get the test done at any time. There is no waiting period.
It is a good idea to do this as soon as possible. No reason to speculate about these things. I didn't speculate at all and married the girl only to find out that she was crazy and the child wasn't mine after two years of hell. You need to do a DNA test at labcorp or some other well priced company or Dept. of Human Services if offered, and perhaps over the net, to do a check swab test to check paternity. Do it!

Right after the baby is born.
If you have a local lab do it it will be a valid legal paternity test that will stand up in court for child support.
If you do it over the net, the other side may claim your test invalid and you'll have to pay $$$ to have the DNA collected without any suspicion.
It can be done immediately.
