is it a graco could be one of quite a few have you tried contacting you bro in law we have the quattro deluxe which you put on trolleys in supermarkets is great but you do put a strap over the car seat too good luck.

The carrier has these two hooks (for lack of a better word) which go into the carseat base or stroller, but would also hook over a grocery store cart as well.
To be fair though, I think most infant carriers will fit ok into grocery cart baskets - I see them all the time.
There are many makers of this. Graco and EvenFlo are 2 of the most common ones. Just search "infant carrier". Or if you want the stroller too search "Travel Systems".

Why don't you just ask your brother in law which stroller he has, he would know the exact one.
Most (not all) strollers that have the carseat and detaches from the base will fit on a shopping cart. There is a space the just hooks over the back bar.
The other cool thing they do is if you go to a restaurant, you can turn over the highchair (wooden style) and the infant carseet can hook on the the two bars. Works great!
