Is there something wrong with me? Im lossing weight instead of gaining in my pregnancy.?
Answer:
It's possible to lose weight while pregnant if one is morbidly obese or if one is sick all the time and can't keep food down. I'm guessing you can't keep food down since 156 isn't obese. :)
Don't worry, you will gain weight eventually. Sickness should pass after the first trimester.
as long as the baby is growing (your belly) everything is ok.
Your metabolism has increased.
Just eat small well balanced meals, and about 300 more calories than you did before you got pregnant and you and the baby will be fine.
I'm experiencing the same thing. My doctor told me that in the early months you lose before you gain. With my first daughter i didn't show until I was 6 1/2 months pregnant. With this little girl I started showing at 3 1/2 months. So as long as your baby is healthy it's okay. But if you still feel uncomfortable contact your ob and talk to him or her.
That happens to some women. as long as your dr say the baby is okay don't stress that will only make it worse.
I barely put on any weight in my first 4 months, just a few pounds. Weight is no longer seen as important during pregnancy, as long as your fundal height is good.
I'm 17 weeks and I've only gained one lb. so far- which is pretty insane considering I crave hamburgers and FF all the time:) Baby's doing good, I'm doing good- so no need to worry. I'm sure the weight will catch up with us! Esp. if I don't slow down on the OH SO GOOD, but oh so fatty food!
Your diet maybe the problem because if you are not eating right you maybe facing malnutrition and it is can be a hassle but I would see your doctor about what is happening because he will have the correct answer
I am currently 26 weeks pregnant and have only gained 1 pound during my pregnancy after lossing an initial 11lbs. I am overweight though and the doctor said that is why. But i have heard other people who are not overweight tell me they lost a few pounds in the very beginning. As long as your baby has a healthy good heartbeat and all seems well, the weight probably isnt a big deal. I was worried too, but i discussed it with my Dr. and he reassured me. Just think of it this way, less to lose after baby comes! Good luck and merry christmas
You only lost a couple of pounds. Dont worry. Just eat well balanced meals. Six a day. A drink some milk for protein. Everything will be fine!
Congrats!
Hope I helped! Have a very Merry Christmas!
I lost 8 lbs during the first 4 months when I was pregnant with my daughter. I was too sick to keep much down. After morning sickness, I gained 53 lbs. If you doctor isn't too concerned then don't worry about it. It's most likely the morning sickness. If it continues or you are greatly concerned then talk to your dr.
GO TO THE DOCTOR! do not wait or depend on folks on yahoo. As good as they might seem, the bottom line is, how does your doctor feel about the weight gain?
I have the same problem at 17 weeks 4 days. As long as you are eating normally and the baby is growing OK, you are fine. Just make sure you ask your doctor next time you see him/her. Good luck!
Okay, here's my take on the situation. Baby is going to get what it needs from your body, before you do. In order for you to both get what you need to be healthy, your body has become more efficent. Your metabolism is up, and if you're anything like me, you're taking care with what you eat, to insure that your baby is getting everything it needs.
With my first pregnancy, I didn't gain ANY weight for the first 4 1/2 months. One of the nurses that worked in my doctors office got a little nasty with me about it. When I told my Mom what she'd said, she told me that woman was being stupid. You shouldn't have to TRY to gain weight while you're pregnant. She's right, you should eat balanced meals, to ensure that both you and your baby are healthy, and that's it. With my second pregnancy I gained 12 pounds. I was a bit overweight when I got pregnant, so my doctors were fine with that. Again, I didn't gain weight until well after the half way mark. I asked my midwife about it. She simply asked if I was eating. I said yes, and she said it's not a problem. My third pregnancy I had twins. When I was 18 weeks along, I had actually LOST 18 pounds! I was terrifed that I wasn't doing right by my babies, and they would be tiny when they got here, because I couldn't keep up with all three of us. My midwife calmed me down, and told me as long as the babies were growing everything would be okay. I carried my twins to term, gaining my 18 pounds back, plus an extra six. My TWO babies were born completely healthy and 5 lbs 14ozs, and 6lbs 10ozs. Eat healthy and try not to worry too much about your weight. Baby is still really small. Right now it's busy growing organs and such. Within the next couple months, baby will grow and start gaining weight itself, and THAT'S when you're going to start gaining weight yourself.
I wouldnt worry! I am worse than you! Im 4 mnths. When i first got pregnant i was 156 now im 134. im so scared but ive been to the hospital, they say the babys ok! Now im still not showing! good luck! Im sure everything will be ok!
If you've only lost 4 lbs in 4 months I wouldn't be worried. I was sick as a dog and lost 20 lbs in 2 months. The only reason the doctors were concerned was because I was becoming dehydrated and my blood pressure was skyrocketing. If you're really worried talk to your doctor though...stress can cause just as many problems as anything else. Good luck and congrats!
