My son said "Duck" at 6 months old... He was watching Baby einstein, there was a duck on the screen, he pointed and said it as clear as day.."Duck".

She was a very social little thing...We used to have to watch out for her talking to strangers...She even laid her head down on some guy's lap while we were watching a film at the aquarium!
Unfortunately my oldest sons first word was "Shut-up!" Needless to say, we took him out of daycare! My second son said "dog" first, and my third son said "Dora" first. I beleive he said "Dora" first because my second son watched it each night before bed, and since my sons shared room, I guess it was inevitable. My fourth son said "Maw" first, referring to my grandmother whom I call Memaw. Obviously their first words had a lot to do with their environment. All except "Dog". That one was pulled out of thin air!

My daughters first word, besides mom and dad was Mickie. That is her dogs name. Best of luck!

my little boy is 13 months and he says mum, dad, nan and baba he has tried the words ta and yeah
It's kind of hard to tell with my son...but in my house we are huge Ohio State fans. My 14-month-old throws his arms up and says "ta-down" (touchdown). Other than "mama" and "yeah" it's the only consistant word he uses.
My son's first word was Nanny.
