Has anyone had high blood pressure and got pregnant.?

GP has told us not event try to conceive until my BP is down. they wont even take me of my contraception (injection)

Answer:
High blood pressure and pregnancy dont mix well, it would be sensible not to try and conceive until after your have your blood pressure lowered and regulated.

However, what kind of doctor do you have that can keep you on a contraceptive injection? That is completely unethical and most probably illegal. I'm sure if you refused the injection it would be perfectly acceptable to your doctor, they cant MAKE you take it!

Karma.

All I can say is do as your doctor tells you. I was in hospital all the through my pregnancy with high blood pressure. Its not good
i'm sure there are people out there who have, but it's very dangerous for both you and your baby depending on what you mean by high.
You can get pregnant with high BP, of course. But you run a very high risk for severe complications.

Pregnancy has the natural tendancy to raise your blood pressure, if its already high, and raises again, you'd be one sick, sorry, and possibly dead pregnant lady.

Diet, exercise, avoid stress, whole grains, FIBER. Bring that BP down where it should be, before you even start trying to get pregnant.
sorry i thought this was a man question , because i would have though that he would need a good high blood presure
Get youre BP down before you concieve. I had high BP during my pregnancy and being stuck in hospital is really boring! By the way, I was hypertensive before I got pregnant.
my blood pressure was always up and then goes back down i have something called white coat syndrome nothing to worry about this goes up when your nervous from dr taking blood pressure .it was ok when i got pregnant then it was dangerously high i was in and out of hospital then it would just go back down when i was at hospital is your blood pressure always high
they can give you tablets to contrioll it but i would think they would monitor your blood pressure to see if it goes up and down look on the net for white coat syndrome
mmm not me.but i expect u will have to take it easy and get Ur partner to help allot around the house and make sure you have allot of money in you're pUrse to go on shopping sprees with ur friend.i heard that is the best thing so make sure he reads this to..
I suffered from high blood pressure during my pregnancy, to the point that I was in and out of hospital for the full pregnancy and then had to be induced. High Blood Pressure in pregnancy can turn into pre-eclampsia and can prove fatal for both the mother and unborn child.

Your best bet is to try and get your blood pressure down naturally. Your GP should be able to assist you with this. Another way is to invest in a blood pressure monitor of your own. I have one and use it from time to time as high blood pressure has no syptoms. It could be that you suffer from white coat syndrome and that your BP goes up at the doctors/hospital.

Good luck and I hope everything works out for you!
my bp went way up with my first child from severe pre-eclampsia and after I delivered it never went down. I was put on bp meds. When I got pregnant with my second child 3 years later my blood pressure went to normal and stayed that way till after delivery when it went back up and has stayed up ! weird?? lol
