A question for educated folks only please?
Answer:
Your due date is usually based on the first day of your last period. Take myself for instance:
-the first day of my last period was July 30
-I know I got pregnant from sex on August 12
-my due date was May 6
If it's showing you due on May 10... then I would think you got pregnant four days after me... somewhere around August 16?
you must remember that they count the day you ovulated as when you conceived...so the ultrasound is right, you're just trying to remember having sex when you didn't because the 40 week gestation includes your ovulation.
and i'm not educated, just experianced.
I've had four children and all my ultra sounds were right on the money. They are a great date to go by. Good luck!
I think so I conceived around the 30th of aug and my due date is may22
I came up with May 10th as well.
Well, despite what alot of us "new moms" think, at the moment of conception you are actually already 2 wks pregant, so your date is correct. You would have conceived on the 24th of August.
You might also find it suprising to know(i know i did) that instead of the common "9 months" everyone talks about, your due date is actually calculated at 40 wks. Try it yourself. Get a calender, you should land right on May 10th as 40 wks pregnant!
Sounds about right. Also the US can be off by a week either way... even more chance of it being off the further along you get.
An EstimatedDueDate (EDD) is not an exact science and most women dont deliver onn their Due Date any way. So I would go with the 10th.
Well, I have two children and both due dates were wrong. Sometimes the cause is incorrect recollection of the LMP or what I think happens alot...you were already pregnant when you had your LMP. That is very common for a woman to be pregnant and come on her menses. Babies are so hard for physicians and while I work in a family practice I know one thing is true...medicine is just that .. a practice! Nothing in this life is 100% unfortunately. I know you are concerned and problem alittle tired of being pregnant right now but just wait, it'll be over so quickly and you'll wonder what happen to the time.
Hope I did your question some justice.
