We have seen women who got pregnant soon after delivery. A recent study showed that the children conceived in less than a year first pregnancy were a few ounces smaller than the previous child. Normally, children should be bigger than the previous child.
This suggests a deficient blood supply as the uterus may have not finished it's healing. The good news is that study found no other major health issues with these children. So, if you get pregnant, they may check on the growth of the child, but it is not a major concern.
Another thing is fertility is NOT increased after pregnancy, in fact, you are probably sub-fertile right now.

Some women are pregnant when they go in for their 6-week check-up. If you have been on birth control for 4 weeks you are probably okay but if you are really nervous you could make him use a condom or get a diaphram on top of whatever birth control you already have.

My Aunt and Uncle are 9 months and 2 weeks apart so when I had my new baby 2 1/2 month ago (08/18) I was so nervous to get back into bed with my man.Dont stress because it could make your not start your period.I also have a 6 yr old that well I got pregnant with while on the pill and I was on the shot when I got pregnant with my son...I am getting an IUD next week hopefully 3rd time is a charm and I can desided when I want my next baby.
Yes, I got preganant 3 months after I had my first child. My advise to you is use a condam for another month to let the birth controle take affect. Believe me it is hard to have 2 children so close in age one grows out of a stage and the other one grows right into it terrible twos is not fun two years in a row!! I am not sure why but a woman is more fertile after giving birth.
Yep!! I got pregnant when my baby was 12 weeks old. You are very fertile right after giving birth. I was on birth control as well...BUT I was also taking antibiotics so that messed up my BC. If you are taking your bc correctly, you shouldn't be worried! Congrats on the new baby!
