ok this information is very accurate ok
if you are covered by medicare a routine 1st u/s (if youre unsure of youre dates is free and youre routine 18week u/s is free
if the doc /ob at any time reffers you to have one it is free
if you want to have one of your own accord for no medical reason you have to pay and will get some back from medicare
if you go threw a private company you will have to pay and get some back
if you have the 12week downs u/s done you have to pay and will not get any back(because you are doing it of your own accord)
and im preety sure that if you want to have those 3d,4d u/s done you have to pay and wont get any back
i do no from experience that the 12 downs u/s cost me around $120
and a private one was going to cost around $118 i think an d i was going to get $78 back or somthing like that

Try getting medicaid so that u dont have to worry about all that. I do know its pretty expensive 2 bring a baby into this world.
Depends where you get it done..they all charge differently.
If you get a referral to a public hospital they will do it thru medicare for free. Otherwise, if it is the 12 week scan, they will charge what they want and you get around 30 dollars back from Medicare.
If you have reached your medicare safety net then you will get 85 percent back.
i wouldn't know my in the U.S.A . there is called medicaid and they pay for it!
