Can a breastfeeding woman consume food that has preservatives?

eg campbells ,green giant etc.Or do the preservatives get excreted in the breast milk?

Answer:
Preservatives are never really good for babies or you. You need to be healthy. Canned foods and other food items that are full of preservatives..not to mention sodium.. are very harmful to your body. You should always stick to organic or natural healthy foods if you can.
You can, it won't hurt the baby.
No they would surely go through your breast milk if you are that worried about it. Why would you want to take better care of your baby than your own body? Its a good start to want to give your baby the best but worrying about preservatives being passed through breast milk is going a bit far it would not transfer a severe amount of them, just eat healthy take your prenatals and drink lots of water and your baby will thrive. Dont worry so much about the preservatives until they are eating baby food in which case you can make your own baby food too. I have done it with all 3 of my kids and plan to do it with my 4th.
obviously or the woman wouldn't be able to eat hardly anything, almost everything has preservatives in it.
It won't hurt the baby.
