How much Tylenol is safe?
Answer:
You need to consult your doctor for a definitive answer in your particular case as I'm not sure how bad your headaches are, your prenatal history and the state of your health in general, all these things could make a difference.
However, as a general guideline: the limit for our postpartum moms is 4 grams or 4000 milligrams of Tylenol a day. So divide the dose you take by 4000 to see how many times in 24 hrs you can take the dose.
For example if you take 650 mg (two 325 mg tablets), you can take it at 8am, noon, 4pm, 8pm and midnight without it being a problem. However, please note if you take other medications, remember to count up the Tylenol in those as well, lots of times it's hidden in other ingredients.
It is safe to take the daily recommended dose of tylenol for you headaches. My doctor even gave me tylenol with codeine for the really bad ones and told me to use my phenerghan or Benadryl with them at night to help me sleep.
Consult your doctor
I had headaches as well and my doctor recommended Tylenol and only tylenol because it is safe for both the baby and me.
