Why are you pro-choice?

If your pro-choice why? What made you pro-choice?

Answer:
Because my body is my own! Because if they take abortion away our rights will slowly go away. Because a fetus to me is not a child. Because i want my daughter to have access to safe legal abortion. Because its a basic right. Because its a safe medical procedure. Because its my life. Because its my choice. Because i dont want a bunch of rich men controlling my body. Because i dont want religion forced on me. Because every child needs to be wanted and loved. because not every sperm needs a name. Because i want to create a better world for living people. Because of the constitution. Because God is Pro-Choice. Because i live in america.
Because Choice should be a Choice!
because I can be in the USA
Because I do not want the Goverment to force someone else's religious beliefs on me
Because that's what life's about, choices. We made good ones and learn from the bad ones that we made.
because I don't want someone telling me what I can and can't do with my body. Would I ever have an abortion, no, but that choice is mine to make not someone else's to make for me
Because I'd rather have my daughter have an abortion legally than try to get an illegal one by someone who's not a certified doctor.

In our society, having a baby too young means you're a failure, or worse. You'd be surprised what girls would do to themselves to keep from being berated.
I don't know if I am pro-choice, per se, but I can definately understand why someone would be pro-choice. I think that people have a right to decide on big changes in their lives. If the pregnancy was a mistake (as some people see it) and that person would not be able to care for that baby financially or emotionally, I can see why they would get an abortion. Many many children in the US and the world are not wanted and are abused or neglected for that very reason. I'm not pro-choice, but I can understand their reasons.
Pro-choice is a bad term. My feelings are 1) NO abortions for White girls if the baby's father is also White. 2) Mandatory abortions, followed by sterilization, for all non-whites. The planet is too crowded.
I am pro-choice for exactly the word in the phrase "choice." I don't feel that my beliefs or anyone else's should be forced on anyone. The foundation of this country is based on people having choices and outlawing abortion takes away a person's choice and that is exactly what our founding fathers did not want. What Pro-Lifers don't realize is that I am not Pro-Death (which is what they would lead you to believe), I am pro-CHOICE.
Woman should have total control over their fertility and pregnancy, period. What gives some religious bigot the right to force a person not to abort a clump of cells (that is what a foetus is) when they may not be in a position emotionally or financially to afford to bring a baby into the world. These same religious bigots who are 'pro life' seem to forget their title when they advocate, or actually do murder doctors who perform abortions. Lastly, the human body naturally aborts foetuses if the body's circumstances are not correct, or the body detects the foetus is damaged or unsound. It's not called 'God's decision' - its nature.
Nothing made me pro-choice. It is the most logical decision. It is not fair for me to tell other people what to do with their lives. It is also not fair for me to force someone to bring a child into this world that they will resent or to add to the huge amount of screwed up adoptees who have abandonment issues (because there are just not enough good homes to go around). The quality of life for many, many more people than just those directly affected goes down when you try to control others lives.
Because I don't think that any government, anywhere has the legal right to dictate what I can and cannot do to my body-- particularly at the the dictates of another's religious conviction.
This topic was discussed at RE in school when I was 15 and an anti abortion group put on a video ('life', if I remember correctly). The propaganda on the video was disgusting I remember it even today; if it was proposed for showing in schools today it would be banned. I saw through the crap (and of course, this was in the days when Victoria Gillick was trying to stop the prescription of contraception to under 16s, although she was also an anti abortionist).
The Victoria Gillicks and the Sue Axons seem to forget that they were teenagers once too. It's not up to them to police my body, even though I'm 33 now.
I AM PRO CHOICE BECAUSE I HAVE A 17 YR OLD SON WHO THINKS HIS GIRLFRIEND IS PREGNANT, DO I HAVE A RIGHT TO TALK WITH THE BOTH OF HER CHOICES? I BELIEVE THEY HAVE NO PLAN AND I BEING A SINGLE MOTHER AM NOT WILLING TO TAKE CARE OF A CHILD AND HER PARENTS DO NOT APPROVE EITHER, IN FACT SHE IS TO SCARED TO TELL HER MOTHER!!
