Can medicaid cut you off when your pregnant?

My husband started his own company last year and we were lucky enough to qualify for Medicaid this year. I was hoping to get pregnant and deliver this year. What happens if I get pregnant and my due date is next year and my husband makes too much by then? Do you think I will continue to be covered until I deliver or will they cut me off? Times are hard now but I'm getting older so I don't want to wait.

Also realize that the maximum is 20,000/yr to qualify for adults/family of 3.

Answer:
If you are covered at the time of pregnancy they will continue to cover you until your 6 week checkup and cover baby for one full year no matter what your income change is.
if u guys make too much than yes they can cut u off.
From what I understand, if you have medicaid when you get pregnant, they cannot take you off the program until after you've given birth and had your wellness checkup. So you should be covered for approximately 1 month after you have the baby.
If you get pregnant they will cover you until 6 weeks after birth.

However, I guess I object to peopel who can't afford to have babies having them on my dollars. I paid for my own how about everyone paying for theirs.

The maximum is different in every state.
Not positive about this, but if they put you on it while you are pregnant, you won't be cut off. If your husband makes too much money for you to be on Medicaid by the time you are pregnant, just be thankful! It means you're doing well enough to pull your own weight in this country. Good luck!
If you qualify for the Medicaid under the amount you're making this year, you'll be fine until you claim the change. Best way to keep from losing it, wait until he/she is born, and then request a change form to be sent to you. Your case worker will ask when the change took place, tell him/her a week from when you called. If asked why announcing the change was put on hold, say you've been wrapped up in new Motherhood. Most of the case workers in any state are dumb asses. Honestly speaking, you should be fine. In the mean time, consider an insurance plan that covers the basics for after your child is born. Your baby will have to get immunizations often during the first two years and the trips back and forth to the clinic can rack up a medical bill quickly. Good luck and consider trying this.
Well unless it is different in each state, I make 24000 and have a family of 3 , and I still qualify for it!
When I got pregnant with my son, my husband & I were both working, him part-time and going to school full time, me full-time with insurance benefits and we still qualified for medicaid. I got it until my six week checkup and the baby had it for one year, at which time I could re-apply.
If you conceive and you are still on Medicaid than no they cannot cut you off because at that time its not about you that they are covering it would be the baby, but if you make too much or have another insurance than they would act as your secondary but if you make too much than when the baby is born they would cut you off after your six weeks and keep the baby on.
they can cut u off at anytime if you have to go thru the re qualification process again & make too much money
Well Sweetie, I'm pregnant and all it did is help me stay on medicaid. It only pays for one ultrasound though. It pretty much pays for everything else though. It pays for your doctor visits and all. I'm pretty sure you'll still be able to receive medicaid even next year. If not you know there are other family plans out there that give you insurance. Also WIC helps you too.
