Can a paternity test be done with out the mother and if so how accurate is it?
Answer:
In paternity tests, the presence of the mother is not a requirement.. all you need is the child and the possible father.. the accurateness is not affected without the mother cause as I have said, the mother has nothing to do with the paternity test..
DUH yeah a paternity test is ALWAYS done without the mother...Paternity determines who the FATHER is not the mother. (paternal=father) BTW paternity tests are basically 99.9% accurate. They allow 1 % but so far I've never known any paternity test to be wrong.
i am sure it doesn't matter b/c the child child's dna is made up of 50% of the mother and 50% of the father...
i had to get a paternity test done with my son (don't be fooled by my name I am a female(anthony))and "I" had to get a swab taken from my mouth as well as my son and the sperm donor..so like i said i don't think it matters.but i know I had to give them a sample of mine as well.
yes it can be done, i actually knwo somebody who is going through this. they just took a swab of the father and the kid. and actually they sent it through the mail and cost 150$ it is very accurate they give you all theses percentages that the father couldnt be the father and so on. i believe its 99.9%
