How do you stop a seven year old from shouting?

My son is lovely but talk at permenantly high volume. We need help. He's one of four and the volumes just too much.

Answer:
try talking really low when you talk to him...he might have a hearing problem
selotape
both my kids are the same! think they naturally are like that, they take after their dad!
tape his mouth up
I suggest getting his hearing checked. He may have hearing problems and speaking at high volumes to make up for it.
Record him and then play it back to him. My mum did it to me and now I am an angel!
get his hearing checked
Rap his mouth in masking tape
Worked for me a big slap across the back of the legs.
Apparently I was very very loud when I was young. My Mum said she could do nothing about it. Thankfully I grew out of it, but I still get a bit boisterous when I have had a drink.
UNLESS HE TALKS LOWER DO NOT ANSWER HIM
Talk to him quietly, dont shout at him, he'll just do it all the more. My son used to do this and I used to whisper at him. To hear he had to shut up! Not in any books but it works. We also used to have whispering competitions and see who could talk the quietest, it made it fun and drove home the point!; Good luck;
Might be worth getting his hearing checked. Also if he one of four it might be due to attention and feeling that he needs to shout to get heard
Good Luck with that!!! I have a six year old (boy) and he is the exact same way. Is he the baby? If so, like mine, he is doing it to be heard over the rest.
A lot of kids go through this.. I would just softly tell him he doesn't need to yell.
Yell something to him and ask him if he likes to be yelled at.
If these don't work take him to the Dr and have his heading checked. He might very well have a serious problem.
Gag him.for some peace and quiet
you need to stop giving him sugar! if your not giving him any, send send him to a mental facility for the "lovely"
Teach him to use an inside voice and an outside voice. Seven is old enough to comprehend the difference. If he doesn't catch on quickly, ground him from speaking for an hour. Make him write everything he wants to say. If he gets loud again, warn him that he is going to lose his speaking privileges for an hour if he persists in being loud.
u shout at him and show him how loud hes talking or i think he should get his hearing checked
its cos he gets over exited. and hes an outgoin kid who doesnt notice wat or how he says it right.

so.....

GIVE HIM SOME WEED!!!!!!!

jus to mellow him out, it wont harm.
:)
"The louder you talk, the less I hear you"
boys will be boys will grow got of it just try to speak quietly and say that you wont answer him till he speaks softly too
have his ears checked
Duct Tape!!
sounds like he has a slight hearing loss in one or both ears , he can hear sounds etc but cant make out what he is saying there for shouts louder than what u may expect , another thing he may have something else wroung that will cause this as well so ake him to the doc and to a ent to have his ears tested as well , it may be that hes the youngest and wants to make sure he gets some of the attention rathrer it be negative or postive attention , eitheer way see a doc and have him tested for disabilities ie add etc and have his ears tested as well , its better to make sure , and when u take him to the ent make sure its someone familier with childrens hearing etc ,
Walk away and ignore him. He won't like it but will soon learn that shouting is inappropriate behaviour. When he is talking normally then shower him with attention and affection.
