What's the easiest musical instrument for a six-year old child to learn?
Answer:
they should always learn the piano first. then they can learn any thing they want. piano is the easy way to teach them to read music and how a note should sound. people will even tune other instruments with a piano.
the piano
I don't know the answer to this question, but I started to play the piano when I was 5. Choose an instrument that YOU wouldn't mind hearing played loudly and repetatively (:
I'd say piano, as long as you start slow and have the child practice everyday.
Violin. However, before starting your child on any instrument, make sure they can read!! And always start them on reading music instead of memorization. Easier for the future.
a recorder
Trumpet if they have good lungs. If not good lungs how about the drums? Clarinet. For a girl though i would suggest the Flute and Piano
the piano . . or the drums if your ears can stand it LoL . . .
i have found that there is not any particular one at that age they can learn any of them however i think the easiest would be the , piano, or the guitar... LOTS OF LUCK........
Get them a child's guitar but tune it in an alternate tuning so when they strum, it will sound pretty. This may keep them interested enough so they actually learn how to play.
A good nice sound alternate tuning is:
Tune the thick E string to D
keep the fifth on as it is A
keep the fourth one as it is D
Keep the third string as G
Tune the second one from B to A
Tune the first down from E to D
DEAR I HOPE YOU HAVE GOOD EARS FOR THIS OK THE CYMBALS FLUTE DRUMS ZACK'S PIANO
TAKE CARE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR
well when I was seven i played the clarinet. it is very simple and easy to learn. Or they say that if you can play the piano then you can play anything. The piano is also one of the most easiest of the instrument.
Recorder is one of the easiest musical instruments to play followed by the piano.
piano i started when i was 5 and a half
As a piano & guitar teacher who also plays flute, recorder, percussion and sings, and who also has three children of her own (ages 6,8 and 10), I think I may be qualified to anwer this one!! :)
First of all: does your six year old want to learn an instrument? Your child will have much better success, regardless of instrument, if they have a desire to play.
Secondly: the biggest mistake made when starting kids out on an instrument isn't choosing the wrong one, it's lack of parental support. Children who have the 100% support of mom and/or dad during daily practice and lessons are more likely to succeed.
Thirdly: little children do not have a big enough lung capacity to play brass or most woodwinds at this age. The recommended age to start these instruments is about 10 or 11.
That said.
I'll admit to my bias!! Being a piano teacher, I'll obviously say piano! However, I'll also back this up:
Piano is the easiest instrument on which to produce a sound. Unlike violin or wind instruments (where it can take literally weeks, if not months, for the child to produce a decent tone), striking a piano key is relatively easy.
Also, with the piano, all the notes are laid out in front of you in black and white, making it easier to learn to play.
Piano is the best way to learn all the fundamentals of music - reading notes in both clefs (keyboard instruments are the only instruments to play in two clefs at the same time... all other instruments only use one clef), rhythm, phrasing, theory etc.
These skills, along with the coordination needed to have two hands playing different things at the same time will make it a lot easier to go on to play other instruments.
All three of my sons have started with piano. My eldest (10) has just started learning guitar. In two years (when he's matured a bit) he will start to learn cello (his idea, not mine!)
Plus, I'm sure you've heard of all those studies around the "Mozart Effect", and about how music makes kids smarter (for example, this article here: http://www.forbes.com/lifestyle/health/2... )
Well, that landmark experiment where researchers first discovered how music makes kids smarter involved children studying piano!! There were three groups in the study: one group had piano lessons, one had singing lessons, and one had no music training (but computer training instead). The group that had the piano lessons scored the highest on tests!
One reason for this is that, more than any other instrument, the piano relies on BOTH hemispheres of the brain.
I know it's long-winded :) but just something to keep in mind! Remember, any instrument you choose won't be any good if you don't help your child learn; piano is a great stepping stone towards learning other instruments, and learning piano really does make you smarter.
(For the record: after learning piano, I went on to play French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Percussion, Flute, Recorder as well as singing in chamber choirs. My three sons? They're all in gifted programs at school!)
Good luck!
The piano or a string instrument. Recorder may be is fine, but it would depend on your child's fingers.
You are limited because of the size of your child's body. Their arms and fingers must be able to hold the instrument and reach the keys while being in the proper position.
This is not a problem for piano and string instruments come in different sizes.
I have taught a sixth grader who began trumpet in second grade and she was awesome, but she was also long limbed.
A recorder, then piano.
recorder and piano
Try the harmonica, they sell little easy to follow books that teach you. I self thought myself a week ago and I can already play a couple of songs.
The drums
Piano. My daughter is six and has been taking piano lessons for over a year. Just make sure it goes fairly slowly--you don't want to put too much on a six-year-old. And make sure it's a good teacher--someone who's really patient and good with young children. :)
Piano, from the piano they can go on to other instruments. After I had piano lessons I taught myself guitar, accordian, clarinet and the flute.
