I need to know normal temp. in the mouth?
Answer:
I am in nursing school and they teach that 99.3 is not a fever. The hospital will not even give Tylenol until it is over 101. If it gets up to 103 then it is way to high... seek medical advise then.
An 8 year olds temperature would be taken the same way as an adult, assuming they are able to keep the therm. under the toungue. So 98.6 give or take.
its a little high. not too high though. too high would be anything past 101.
normal: 98.6
so 99.3 is a slight fever.
hope the kid feels better.
That's very low grade. Dont even medicate. Fever is there for a reason..to heat up the body to kill germs. Only medicate if it's over 100
98.6 degrees.
99.3 is kinda high.
It's a bit high. The 'normal' temp is 98.6. Mine is usually 96-97 so it's ok if it isn't excatly 98.6. Is the child ill? 99.3 is a bit high but just provide liquids and rest. If it continues to be higher than normal or increases call a doctor. If the chld starts acting ill then consult a doctor too.
A low grade fever can be just as bad as a high fever. A low grade fever can indicate illness.
98.6 is normal.
the old stroy was that normal temp. was 98.6 by mouth 99.8 retal
and lower for under the arm pits.
98.6 is normal but 99.3 is not bad either, that can be from being over dressed, temps in room to warm, ect.
98.6 orally is considered normal.
98.6 thats a little hi
98.6 so 99.3 is very slight
Make sure the child hasn't had anything to eat or drink before taking it. What are his other symptoms? When in doubt call the pediatrician!
Normal tempratures depend on the individual. My normal temp is 96.7 my daughter's normal temp is 97.5...the "average" normal temp is 98.6 but the 9 year olds' norm could possibly be 99.3, the only way you could find out is by medical records.
