What is a good idea for a valentinecard box for a 8 yr old boy to take to school?

he is 8...into sports and animals... any cute ideas?

Answer:
A decorated old football or baseball helmet (maybe you could pick one up at Goodwill or a Savers or the local thrift store).

For animals, get a cheap goldfish bowl (I wonder if you could find one in plastic ... if not, you'd have to be sure he could carry the glass bowl by himself). Get a hot-glue gun for $2 and glue (or tape) on decorations (beads, shells, blue things).
A football or one that looks like a cell phone.
what?
a shoe box decorated with sports and animal stickers and colored paper.
When I was little, my Mom always decorated a shoe box with me, and that was always fun. SInce he is 8, I would do that, and decorate it with him with his favorite characters/super heroes/etc. He will enjoy it, it will be unique, and you two can spend time together too. I would maybe take a shoe box, and cover it with baseballs, basketballs, soccer balls, maybe his favorite sports teams, and put a picture of a dog on there, or his favorite animal. Trust me, it will be fun, and he will love it! Good luck!
How about a box that looks like a race car.or maybe an elephant----and you'd have to lift up it's trunk to drop a card in!
Take him to the store and let him decide, then you know he will be happy.
When I was in elementary, I use to love that time of the year because every year, we were given a shoe box to decorate. Let him decorate it after applying a solid color of construction paper all around the outside of the box.

His theme can then be glued, by either using punch outs, sticker, even a soccer picture or baseball picture cut out of him so its really prominent, candy related items of sports and/or animals (gummies ?), and of course little Valentine hearts, candy ones and cut outs.

Make it a group activity if there are younger siblings or just quality time between the two of you. Its neat that you are thinking this far out. Gives time to really think and plan something really special to create warm fuzzies and happy memories.

Have fun, Mom!!
Wrap a shoe box in green paper. With white paper cut out thin strips to use as yardage lines(like on a football field), or you can use a white marker used for scrapbooking. Make a goal post out of oaktag and cut a slit in the top of the box for the valentines. Decorate with fav. team stickers.
Wrap it in brown paper and use white paper to make the threading of a football on the top, but instead of the long tie that goes down the middle cut it out for the cards.
if he likes robots. take a shoe box and cover with foil. use a smaller box (ornament boxes) for a head and empty toilet paper/ paper towel rolls for arms/ legs. small boxes for feet. decorate with construction paper and foil.
