I don't reckon there is too much required, we have an orientation morning at my daughters school surrounded by may for this coming fall. They have them look at a number in a circle and using a bingo dabber put that plentiful spots in the circle. They have them write their names and consequently cut and glue a craft. I'm not sure what else. I meditate it is helpful if they can write out the alphabet and numbers up to 10 and the sounds of the packages of alphabet. I think they have them do these activities to split them into the classes evenly so they don't enjoy all the slower kids contained by one class. They kept saying they expect kids to be at adjectives levels and they only work with the kids where on earth they are at. Sometimes kids just entail that type of environment to learn surrounded by, they don't want to learn at home or from mom.
work on her parcels, reading them and writing them. They will go from A-Z. She will stipulation to know her colors, numbers, and how to read. They will have to know word wall words approaching I, am, you, come,if,she,he,up,down,in,out etc. They hold 50 words to master from Sep-June. Also patterns and how to follow them. Work on handwriting and how to form parcels.Go to Borders and buy the K jumbo workbook for daily revision. The more they know, the easier it will be for them. A kid can never know too much.
There is a wonderful series of books call "What Your _____________________ Needs To Know", by E.D. Hirsch. It is part of the Core Knowledge Series. They enjoy Kindergartener through Sixth Grader.

well my daughter is starting kindergarden surrounded by august and she is already reading short stories and doing simple addition i would work on her knowing her numbers, and post knowing her abc's and number one learning how to write her baptize.
My son just finish kindergarten and he know who to
write his name and final name
know his addresse, phone number
birthday
colors
to cut
shapes
what else suprise me was they are already doing math close to adding, subtract, even fractions, and write and counting to # 100. They even haved to revise how to read time of the wall clock (not the digit one). Learn to identify money and value (just the cents pennys, nickels, dimes, quarter) and earth-shattering thing too is play and work powerfully with other kids.
This be some of the things my son did but they are a few more but u might not believe me lol cause of adjectives the lil kids I know my son's school be the only academy that was doing it ( I live contained by chicago the school term was Hayt Elementary northside)
Well desire your daughter the best of luck!
in the screening they ask thier birthday, phone number, adress, colors. i feel thats what i remember. my daughter started kindergarden last fall down at 4, then she turned 5 sept 8. she will be going contained by the first grade contained by the fall still at age 5! i looked-for to keep her within kindergarten because she is still behind because she is so young at heart.but the want to put her in the 1st. thank god at my institution district they have individulized rearing. if a child needs speech thereapy its free. shes so tiny im nervouse for her going contained by the 1st grade. so we will see.
Work on phonemic awareness. It's a biggie.
I be surprised to find out that they want them to know their colors, shapes, how to write their name, know the rough alphabet and be able to count to 10.
I would beckon your school to find out what some requirements may be as in good health.
You have a fitting chance to hold her be 'ahead', as long as you don't push her. It's good to know numbers, the alphabet, how to do printing, spell her signature - first is good, both first and surname is even better. She should know her address and phone number, yours and your husband's first name. Try working with shapes and colours. Do LOTS of reading, and possibly she'll come to recognize some words. Have FUN beside learning, above adjectives! Make everything you do a teaching/learning experience with her - while you are grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, consent to her help...
The alphabet, counting, counting by 5's counting by 10's,oppisites approaching fast and slow, the other stuff close to reading the teachers will do.They want the kids to be set for the higher category so when they get near they can do math and stuff.Good luck.My d aughter just finished kindergarden so I really hope this help.
