Seven-year-olds are old enough to be reasoned with. I think it's time to sit him down and talk to him about table manners. Just tell him how he's expected to act at the table (or anywhere else he's eating his food)..when he doesn't do what he's told, he should be punished appropriately. And, of course, set a good example for him.
Just leave him to it, he'll learn social skills in time. All 7 year olds are the same, if you let them know it bothers you they'll do it all the more. Let him learn by example - he'll get it eventually!!
That is so cute. I would not worry about it because he is just 7.
I believe it comes down to focusing or there coordination, my 5 & 7 year old do the same. I just stay on them and hope they stop soon.
reward him when he eats like a grown up. like extra dessert or something like that
