10 yr old constantly touching himself and smelling hand afterwards, how can I get him to stop?

It's normal for a 10 year old to touch himself.
But, have your husband set him down, and explain that it is a private issue, and others should not know he is doing it.
He needs privacy in his own room.
HE HAD TO SEE SOMEONE DO IT, TALK TO HIM ABOUT IT.
You can't! LOL. He's going through a stage of exploring. He should grow out it...but if he doesn't take him to a doc.
It also may be a symptom of child molestation. Children tend to be sexually exploring also when they've been molested.
Maybe it's a caveman instinct or something. I know that my boys don't do that but perhaps he's trying to smell pharamones or something.
Also, if I were you, i'd have a talk with him about his privates and explain to him that there's nothing "wrong" with touching them, however it's wrong to do it in front of people.
Plus make sure he washes his hands frequently.
Who knows why kids (males) do alot of what they do??

Talk to him and tell him that it is unsanitary and not a good thing.
Getting him to stop may be a big deal, but finding out the reason he began this behavior is a bigger deal.
Have a talk with your son about both topics to see if you can get him to stop doing it and to find out why it's started. If that does not work, he should be taken to see a doctor.
