What do I do with my 7 year old son when he kicks and screams because he does not want to go to school morning

Answer:
Seriously have a talk with the teacher and principal with your son in attendance... request he been seen by the school counselor so maybe he can have a place to open up his feelings. Something serious may be going on.

In the meantime, let him stay home for two days and make life so miserable, that he can't WAIT to get back to school! That means, scrubbing toilets by hand because the toilet brush is *missing*, dumping trash, sweeping the floor (vacuum cleaner is broke!!) washing clothes, wiping windows with vinegar & water (smells worse than windex), oh yes and school work that you make up - because now he will be "homeschooled" (make it really monotinous, like writing his name is cursive 100 times or copying the multipication chart 30 times or someting ridicioulous) . whatever you do.don't let it stop for TWO WHOLE days!! DONT GIVE IN!

Watch how fast he wants to go back to school! And if you need to take time off from work to do it, then do that!
Find out why it is he doesn't want to go to school and fix the cause.
Do what my mom would have done; apply the board of education to the seat of knowldedge! It won't warp him forever, and will do him good.
Hi click on the link below there you will find some of the best books ever written to help mums cope when the kids try to take over. good luck hope this helps
Sit down with him and talk to him and find out what's going on. Ask him why he feels this way. Is the work too difficult? Is he not getting enough sleep? Is someone picking on him? Find out what he has to say. Encourage an open, honest conversation. Don't interrupt him..let him speak.

Then, if necessary, set a meeting with his teacher to work out any problems.
I told my son that he could stay home BUT he couldn't go outside and play when his siblings came home and he had to stay in his room and be quiet all day. He decided that playing outside was way more important than staying home. Telling him that he had to clean his room helped too.
Do everything you can to find out what the problem is at school. Let him know that you and his teacher are on the same team.

If this continues have your child see a therapist and possibly a good M.D. I went through something similar with my son last year. If they need treatment for something they are not going to learn much at school until you get that problem dealt with anyway. Don't be full of pride and try to avoid getting your child help if he needs it. If you do will only be holding him back.

You can get past these things. And it does get better. Don't worry.

Good Luck!
First of all, don't get angry.

I used to do this as well. Starting from preschool, I would scream, kick, cry, and fight to stay home. I was terrified of being at school with the teachers. I hated it.

Try to find out WHY he doesn't want to go. When I was 7, I had a teacher who would literally try to make kids go to the bathroom in their pants. She wouldn't let them go, and if they asked she would keep them in during recess. I didn't tell because I didn't know I could.

In 5th grade I got in fights alot with the kids who didn't like my big brother.

My parents got mad and yelled and that made me even more scared and more hysterical. If he won't tell you why, talk to parents of kids in his class and see if any of them have the problem. If so, have a meeting with the parents, teachers, and principle. I wouldn't give the teacher time to think up a lie, surprise them with it.

If there is really no problem, then tell him every time he does it he will still have to go to school, then not get any tv/games afterwards.
