Is staying up late illegal? 10points?
Answer:
He is probably reaching for straws on that one,but maybe he means calling Social Services to determine if you are getting the proper care, being that you are late for school a lot and probably tired in class too.Parents are responsible for making sure their kids get to school.
There are no laws on when to sleep. Just on when to be in your house.
Your parents could be "spoken to" by school police or something for allowing you to be up that late on a school night. But unless it happens all the time (you being late or it causing troubles in school) nothing can happen.
But, on a school night you should be in bed before 1a.m. It's just responsibility.
no its if you dont go to school alot
No its not illegal to stay up that late. Thats just the idiot dean trying to use a scare tactic. Kinda stupid of him if you ask me.
NO WAY. Not illegal by a long shot. When my son was a couple weeks old, he would cry until 3am. Do you think they'd arrest us parents or our baby for that?
Being outdoors after a certain time, on the other hand, may be illegal. It depends on the city & state you live in.
He's full of crap.
it is not illegal to stay up late, but it is illegal to stay out past curfew, but only really if you get caught.
you dean is a lying sack of ****!
Hell no. Stay up as late as you want.
ehhhhhhhh its so not illegal unless he is the 1am police or something!"!what business is it of his what time u go to bed? he's just trying to freak you so ignore him but maybe try getting to bed a bit earlier!
no it is not illegal go to bed at 11:00
No its not!
No,it's not illegal to stay up late,at least not where I am anyway. You should try to get to school on time though,to make your teachers happy. I agree with you completely with the no 13 year old goes to bed at 10 though.
He was joking.
hi tell your friend that you can not get into trouble for going to bed late but you might from your preants lol, when i was 13 i didnt go to bed untill 12:00pm but i stil got up for school
I don't know where you live so I don't know if it is illegal for you to be up that late. I do know that no matter WHERE I lived when my daughter was 13 her bedtime was 10:00pm and there were NO exceptions...mainly because she only got an hour of television on weekdays.
do i look like a police officer and no you wont go to jail
idot
No way! Laws on curfews though. But try gettin 2 school on time.
That's a lie!!!. Well I'm 16, but I stay awake EVERY SINGLE DAY until passed 12 am, for example last night I went to bed at 2:30 am, watching "Ronin", with Robert De Niro, if that's illegal my mother would be already rotting in jail. Besides, why do you have to tell a teacher? He just said that for scaring you out, and avoid you do it again.
But even so dont do it again, you'll end up with insomnia, like me.
First of all, what he said is not true. What he possibly meant is that in most states there are curfews for minors - but you would have to be OUTSIDE in the neighborhood or around the town unchapperoned in order to be in trouble with the law. Secondly, think about what you are asking. You should not be late to school. In my city, too many tardies can bring a truant officer to your house and after four absences, the teachers have to submit students names to the truant officer. Then they come to visit parents and want to know why the child is missing days (it's required that students attend a certain amount of days per year). Additionally, if the child continues to miss days, the parent can get supeanoed and must attend court and see a judge. I know of one parent who had to serve jail time of 2 weeks for this situation. It has been proven that 13-17 year olds need more sleep than they think. When you deprive yourself of sleep, you are allowing your brain to shut down and not function the way it should. You need (13 yrs) at least 10 hours of sleep. WHen my daughter was in 8th grade - her bedtime was 9:00 ! At 13 - it was my bedtime and I found it worked. Good sleep, a good breakfast, and your brains' cells are ready to function and to learn the next day. Shut the t.v. off. Do you apply as much time to study??
no it's not illegal, those that want to do well in school go to bed at 10PM
being late alot can hurt you but whenever you go to bed is your own business.
oh yea to your little "I mean, what 13 year old goes to bed at 10PM.. ?" statement..im 16 and that's when i go to bed :P
I used to stay up and watch Letterman when I was a kid, and then one day I realized that, much like a hangover, being miserable the next day (dead tired) wasn't worth it. When I "grew up" I stopped staying up so late- YOU are the one who pays the consequences anyway!
i am impossible at waking up so i [try] to go to bed at 10 pm or else...im late everyday. and i am 13
Typically the answer is no, it is not illegal in the sense of a punishable crime. However, depending on your school and other local government by-laws it may be, and since you are 13, your parents are the responsible party. It never ceases to amaze me the little known by-laws certain small towns or schools have adopted. I've seen some schools require the parents to come into detention for the frequent tardiness of their children...so you just never know! To get the straight scoop in your area, I suggest you ask a person in authority, one that you trust to give you an honest answer in your school.
uh no its not illegal but i had to be in bed by 10 when i was your age, well on school nights. i also didnt have a cell phone.
There is no law that I know off. But if the school finds that you are late too much and your school work is suffering for it, then you put your parents in a very difficult position. They will be talked to, and now you will be watch a home, so you will be punishing yourself in the long run. This could end up that the school says your parents are unfit, and then a social worker comes in and evaluates your home life. and her report could take you out of your home, These things have happened to other people, who really have done nothing that bad, but you've heard the saying people make a mountain out of a mole hill. Don't let that happen, as for thirteen year old While you are in school you should be in bed at a decent hour NOT 1:AM.
He's lying to scare you into it. That is complete bull ****. Teachers try to lie to get you to do stuff. Like my 4th grade teacher told me that if you click the print button in ms word more than once, the mouse will have to be replaced lol. I believed it. But anyway, he's either trying to scare you or he's just kidding. Oh, and the person above me (lennie) is lying.
Dude, it's not illegal he is just trying to scare you so you won't do it again. hope that this helps.
no the only thing that is illegal is BEING OUT OF THE HOUSE at that time.
It is not illegal to stay up late but at 13 you should be in bed on school nights at 10pm at the latest
My 13 yr. old will be in bed at 10:00pm if its a school night!
