Are their pop/candy machines in your kid(s) school?

My son's school does not have those which is good but i am wondering if every school is like this.
Thanks

Answer:
The teacher's lounge has a soda machine, but no soda or candy is available to the kids.
Whats wrong with pop candy?
I heard that in certain parts of LA theyre banned but some schools in the walnut valley unified school district still have soda machines
Well most are unless the Principal believes its okay to have those! My school doesn't have one and I'm a Senior!
I think its very unhealthy for a kid to grow up with such bad food in the school. At least the foods should be healthy not crappy chips and sugary pop!
I don't think so, schools probaly wouldn't feed candy and soda to school children, maybe soda.
Yes ! They are trying to replace them with healthy snacks and flavored milk. The other machines are only on after school hours. My son's school is encourging parents and students to make healthy choices !
Our highschool got soda and candy machines my senior year. But as a compromise to promote healthy eating, they included 1/2 juice in the soda machines AND the machines were not turned on until after school let out. That way we didn't snack on junk all day and since the cafeteria, etc, was closed after school, we still had refreshments.
the high school i used to go to did. they have a few different ones, but they also had a machine with juice in it. so the kids got to choose (personallly i always drank orange soda lol)
I know that the schools my daughter went to when we lived in New York had them.
My kids school has nothing like this..no canteen nothing. In Australia they dont have cooked lunches like many countries but they can have canteens that sell lollies icypoles etc.
Ours does not and that is part of the reason they go there. No Primary school that I know of has vending machines. I don't think high schools either but not positive on this
I live in Alabama and our schools have them. They have juice, water and caffeine free drinks in them.
Hi! No, my children's school does not allow pop/candy/chips/gum vending machines. In fact, the School District in our city does not allow such vending machines in any elementary school that is part of the district # as of about 2.5 years ago. ( Western Canadian city )
WHY?
The school district is trying to promote healthy eating and having unhealthy vending machines in or on school property is contradicting what they are teaching.
I, among many parents, fully support this. I do let my children eat chips, drink pop and have other things like that every now and then, but as a treat. There is no nutritious value what so ever in this kind of "food", it just tastes good!
:o)
No
No. Elementary school does not. Our school lunch program is FULL of "bad" foods. They classify them as "kid friendly". Pizza every week, and lots of empty calories. The after school program is worse giving them lots of empty calories for snacks. The worst is the snack at 5:00. Try to give them dinner at 6:00 after a snack at 5:00!! AND we are in one of the top rated school districts in Massachusetts!!
no we have one and my friend in IN has one in her school
