My baby sis is 3 and finds it hard to speak...any help??
Answer:
I have a nephew that will be 3 this July and he already speaks both English and Spanish. I also have a niece who is almost 3 and barely ever speaks at all. When she does, I can't understand it. Her parents currenlty have her in speech therapy classes. I guess it all depends on how concerned your parents are and how she acts around other children. I also have a nephew (yes, I have lots) who is Autistic and he wasn't diagnosed until two years old because we just thought he was shy or not ready to speak.
It could be many things, it could be nothing. If you're really concerned, or if your parents are, you should talk to her pediatrician about it.
first off she's only 3, and has a whole year to get linguistically caught up. sicne every child deveolps differently, she may have put trying to speak on the backburner with the confusion of the 2 languages and is focusing on her motor skills :) give her time, i have a 2 yr old, same thing...seems to at times speak her own language witgh the odd english word,,but she can do othet thingds most 2 yr olds cant,,like brush her teeth, undress, feed her baby sister.
all in good time dear :)
Put her in sylvin learnin center
My son has speech problems and we started taking him to speech therapy at the age of 3, he's now 4 and in pre-k and is still in speech but he's much easier to understand.
