My daughter has a head cold and we are are flying tomorrow evening. Anything we should do for her?
Answer:
Give her a decongestant about 30 minutes before getting on the plane. That will help open up her ears. While you're in the air, let her chew gum if she's old enough. Otherwise, I always bring apples for my kids to eat (a trick I learned from a flight attendant on one of our many travels!). The opening and closing of the jaw helps to keep the ears open and take away some of the popping sensation.
Give her some advil cold and sinus medicine, lots of rest, liquids and of course chicken noodle soup!
Actually go to the health food store and get a bottle of oil of oregano. It is safe for children and a few drops help with everything. Make sure that she gets enough awater though. Also when you buy it ask the health food stor provider about all other things it helps with to accutom you to it. You can even give it to toddlers w/ no side effects.
Just give her some cold medicine. It doesnt completely cure it but it helps. Make sure you have a lot of tissues on the plane (if she has a cough make sure you have cough drops too).
Give her some sold medicine before the flight. I took a flight during high school while I was slightly sick. After getting off the plane I felt horrible. I was told that I could have prevented it by taking medicine before.
