How do you get your six year old to stop talking so much at school?

I have a 6 year old daughter whose is exactly like this. Her teacher loves her, but she always wants to talk to the kids. What I did, and it worked, was when my daughter got a bad note from school I would take something away from her that she loves. ex. like riding her bike, games, tv ect. It really worked. I explained to her that is was very important to pay attention in school to educate herself and if she did not listen to her teacher and pay attention rather than talking to the kids, the same punishment would happen again. Good luck! I know how you feel.
A lot of hard work, it took us years. Work with the teacher to come up with a set of common phraseologies, ranging from: Mute button to SHUT UP.

Threaten her, like not harshley but say if you talk out loud or too much, then you have to sit in the corner for 5 minutes.,
Or award her, say, if you are a good girl, and talk queit;y and not so much, I will give you a special surprise.
explain to your kid that it is okay to talk anytime, except when he or she is in class. it is good to socialize. Talking more will increase their speaking skills. when i look at my talkative friends i just wish that i can go back in time and try to not be shy. their mouths never got them into trouble with the years of practice they had in elementary school. it is good to talk but just not in class

LOL This is funny...You should post this on the toddler board where there are dozens of questions asking if a two year old is ever going to talk! This all makes you long for the days when your 6 year old didn't talk now doesn't it? All I can say is try to instill a sense of respect for others...tell your 6 year old that talking in class so much is showing disresepct for the other students as well as the teacer.
