What do you think is a good bedtime?

what do you think are good bedtimes for an 11 year old, and 13 year old? Should they go to bed at the same times? what time if so?? was just curious to see what others bedtimes are ( on school nights of course!)

Answer:
9:30 pm. that is the time my brothers and I all went to bed when we were in school. now that I am in college and Highschool at the same time I go to bed at 2:30 am
9 pm.
That's it.
Well, it doesn't matter if this 2 person sleep at the same time or not. But they should be sleeping at least 8 hours, which helps them to be active in school for the rest of their tomorrow. :)
What time do they have to get up? Children that age should be getting minimum eight hours but better to be getting nine or even ten. If they have to get up for school at seven, they should go to bed at 10:30 (allowing a half hour leeway for settling down and actually falling asleep). Base bed times on what time the child has to get up in the morning.
My kids go to bed at 9:30... then they can read for 1/2 hour.
Seems fari. And yes they can go to bed at the same time. Thats not such a big age difference.
8:30 is good, same time for kids
I think they should both have the same bed time. I think bed time should be no later than 9:00 pm for that age. I might even try earlier because kids need their sleep but they might fight that! :) How about 8:30 to bed and they read until lights out at 9:00? Or 9:00 to bed with a book with lights out at 9:30?
I dont have children but i would say 8.30 sounds reasonable - later on weekends maybe. Perhaps 8.45 for the older child or a little earlier for the younger one.

I am pregnant so i guess i will be asking myself this in 11 years
9 pm.
When my son was those ages, he went to bed by 9. He was up at 7 usually. I didn't move the bed time til he was 15. It gave him time to relax and sleep enough to be rested for his day.
well on a schol night I would say 9:00-9:30 young pre-teens need a lot of sleep that is what studies have showen, with all their raging hormones ect. plus a well rested child can focus well in class and do better, their brain is not all mushy, learning and taking new things in all day, and haning with you friends can be hard on your system if you dont get the proper sleep, plus the earlier the better, relax time for you is always a bonus
I am answering as a parent of course.

It may seem cruel but at that age I would think the latest bedtime should be 9:00 p.m.

I would give the 11 year old a bedtime of 8:00 p.m. and the 13 year old 8:30 to give parents time to spend a little time with each child.

At this age it is very easy to skimp on the amount of sleep needed. Many experts will tell you that 10 hours is essential.

best,

it is still important for all us adults to have atleast 8 hours sleep...but i think for the child ages 10 to 15 should have atleast 12 hours sleep because at this ages their bones and muscles are still developing.and the best time for them to sleep is 8:00 or 8:30 pm.
for the 11 year old, 9 pm. for the 13 year old, 10pm.
I let my 11 yearolds stay up until 9 pm and one they hit 13 it was 10pm
8:30, this gives them time to wind down, read, and actually get kind of sleepy by 9:00.
My daughter has hair brushed, face washed and teeth brushed by 9 reads for 30 mins and lights out at 930 and she is 11. On the weekends her bedtime is 11. If the 13 year old has her own room I would say bed at 10 on school nights.
They should go to bed at the same time- 9pm in my opinion. In the teen years, they grow very fast and need lots of sleep. It's the second time for the fastest part of brain development/growth only after their 1st year of life. Plus, by that age, they're probably in middle school and start earlier than elementary. Our elementary kids start at 8:32 here, middle school even earlier. They need their sleep!

My 2, 4, 5, and 9 yr olds go to bed at 8.
for the 11 yr old 8:45 and for the 13 yr old 9:30
although they both need to get 8 hrs of sleep, so depending on when they need to be at school, legnth of time needed to get ready, and the time driving to school, you'll need to adjust these times.
9:30
I think that the 11 year old shoul be out to bed at 9:00 and the 13 yr old at 9:30 because it give them a little more freedom and makes them feel a lil more grown up.
10-10:30 is fine. Allow time for reading and falling asleep.
It depends what time they need to get up in the morning but they should both be getting 9-10 hours of sleep each night.
10
9:30 for a 11 year old 10:30 for a 13 year old
Well I know this aint a real good answer but I'm 12 and on school nights I go to bed at 11 or if I'm watchin a movie 12 and on weekends I go to bed at around 1 or 2 but that aint a good idea most people think but I don't know why people always say this 8 hour s**t coz it makes no difference to me I tried to go to bed early once I think it were 9 or 10 and it really made no difference coz in the end I still fell asleep at 12 oh yeah i think you should send them to bed at the same time by the way coz if you dont then the younger one will start to say 'why do you send her/him to bed later than me that's not fair man.'
Same time 9:00 pm
10
im 13 and i don't have a bedtime
but i think 9 pm is the average
Of course school nights. But since they are in middle school they should probably go to sleep at maybe 9:00 or 9:30. But if the teacher complaines that they fall asleep in class everyday or they look tired then move it to 8:30. Since you 13 year old is going to high school if she can manage to wake up at 6:30-7:00, go to school, work hard all day, come home, do homework, eat, take a shower, and then sleep without waking up the next day tired then let her go to sleep at 10:00. But if she can't, 9:30. But you have to watch that. For the 11 year old keep it the same until she goes to high school (like I told you about your 13 year old). You don't want them to stay up too late! Well i hoped I helped! ♥
i say 9 or 9:30 but that is all. the same time for both too. maybe on the weekend they can stay up later but during the school week, i wouldn't make it any later than that. it is important that kids get enough sleep so they can function properly at school. hope this helps. good luck.
