Are Bratz dolls good for my 8 year old daughter to be into?
Answer:
Personally I think if you'd let your child play with a Barbie then why not a bratz doll? There's no difference. When I was growing up every young girl had a barbie... supposedly it was the norm. However Barbie is no more of a positive role model then the bratz dolls are today...
I think parents need to use common sense ... bratz and barbie are fine as long as mothers instill in their daughter's a sense of self esteem. Which can only happen by us spending time with our kids and teaching them that they dont need to dress like a tramp and wear heaps of make up ...or have big breasts in order to feel good about ourselves...
In other words start teaching our children that self worth and self image are not the same thing.
well what u should be asking yourself.. do u want your daughter dressing like those dolls? i wouldnt ever dream of getting my kid one of those it lets then think its ok to dress like a little ****. and im sure no mom would want the kid doing that... hope i helped! :)
Some people think they are bad, because they dress like gangsters.
My cousin which is 11 isnt allowed to have them.
i like barbie better. but i dont think there is any harm... if my child started to look like a bratz doll i 'd prob wouldn't like it
They are not good for anyone to be into. I would liken them to having a "ho" as a roll model for your child.
Perfectly normal...my 10 yr old loves them and has for years, and although the dress sense leaves alot to be desired, really I guess its no different to us playing with big boobed barbie dolls when we were that age...
And at least she is only playing harmless date games and not actually going out and fooling around like some of the young fools on this site...
they carry the baby bratz dolls now two i think they are cute so what if she plays with them she getting to know what life is about..
Barbies are more natural looking then having huge eyes, with loads of makeup. I personally think they are a terrible trend that young girls are getting into way to soon. As a younger girl, it shows her that she needs to wear inapropriate clothing and wear loads of make up. When i was younger, i wanted to be just like my barbies, how do you think your daughter of 8, thinks? Would she ever want to be like the Bratz dolls? This is the companies way of getting back at matel/barbies. By showing little girls the how "pretty" their dolls can be with the clothing etc. can make an impression on how they will act later on.
Personaly, I think they are rather stupid things. And would never give one to anyone I know. Besides, you don't really want your kid becomeing like one of those dolls, or dateing a guy who is like one of those dolls. I'd say over all they "all together evil" to quote Gandalf. :) Hope I helped.
While I personally think the are the ugliest things the kids love them. Kids have imaginations & they love to use them. I am rather dated when I tell you this. I remember the cut out dolls & clothes & all the stlish shoes & such they came with. Guess what we did with them. Yep! Dress em up to go on dates. How things change yet stay the same. I been married 38 yrs. 3 grown sons, very proud of & 6 grandkids. I did okay. Wonder how many others on here tonight remember those things. She will be okay.
I have never seen a Bratz doll but according to inormation on the web, they are for girls aged 9 thru 12 years old. You need to use common sense in deciding if they are right for your daughter.
Personally I don't like them and I hope our granddaughter doesn't want them when she is older (the fad will most likely be gone by then). However, I think they can be ok if the parents are very involved in the child's life and explain that these dolls are not real people - they are fantasy, just like action figures, monsters, super heroes, aliens, etc. Parents also need to monitor the role playing that happens and address issues that arise. This would be the case, whether the dolls were Bratz, Barbies, or something else. Children have always used fantasy as part of play. When my children were small, I questioned Barbie dolls, which seem rather harmless today.
well before bratz i used to play with barbies, they seem like the same thing, and i turned out alright. you just have to tell your daughter that real people do not dress like that, they are just exaggerations.
i would never let my sister play with thoose things.I would hate it if she started dressing like that!
no..those dolls should be called Slutz! not Bratz!
My daughter LOVES the Bratz dolls, she doesn't really even notice the clothes, she ususally takes them off anyway and mix and matches outfits, you can find some Bratz dolls that are more covered, which is what I usually buy, even in barbies.
I always have thought they are a little over the edge...
But if you gather their play with them and listen in... it give a good chance to see what they know and educate them from there.
IE... boy friends, sex, anything else that comes up in their fantasy play.
Bratz dolls look like hookers. I don't let my kids play with them.
no..
as a parent it is your choice. I personally won't buy them for my daughter as the motto is don't theorise..accessorise. In other words..Don't think just look good. Not a good motto I don't think. She has been given a couple but is not into them. Just remember..you are the parent. If you don't like them don't buy them
Bratz have been around for a few years now. My 12 year old recently outgrew them and they had no ill effects whatsoever on her.
