What is a good community activity for a 10 year old?

We went to the dollar store and bought a lot of little gifts and did the hospital visit too.
We also stopped by the family surgery waiting room and passed out cards, games for the younger children who had to wait for relatives in surgery, puzzles, etc. We left it in the waiting room for other families to help pass the time.
What does she need a dose of reality in.if it is in taking things for granted...visit homeless shelters and donate items that are unused.
Work in a soup kitchen.pass out soup and sandwiches on a Saturday afternoon.
In our city we had a group of women set up a cardboard table. They made hot dogs, brought chips, and punch and handed them out to the homeless of the community.
Take flowers to a nursing home. Many blind people enjoy the smell of flowers.
Put bird feeders up outside their windows so they have something to watch.
Offer to help out an elderly neighbor.
She could mow my lawn for free next summer.
My kids do it because they love helping other people.
But my daughter collects the POP TOPS of the cans and send them to the Ronald McDonald House. She also cleans out her room every so often and packs up her toys that she doesnt want anymore and donates them to a fmaily in need. Both of my kids also have a basket that whatever clothes doesnt fit them or they absolutly don't want anymore, they put it in the basket and when it is full we donate them.
Make small Christmas goodie bags and have her hand them out to kids who are in the hospital.
you should. let her go to a local commuinty center or like a ymca type thing she can be very interactive with alot of diffrent people.
some kind of volunteer work mom says to go 5to a hospital and see the brain deed so shee will never get on drugs might do some volunteer work thier too.this would be good for her.

Call the local Children's hospital and ask if you and your daughter can volunteer somehow. reading to toddler's maybe? What about collecting items for women's and children living in women's shelters?
