People say it is short, but when I was that age (even though I am a girl) guys in general were just SHORT!
I had already spurted up a few inches during the summer, so I get really tall, like 5" 2'. It is actually an average height, he will soon have a growth spurt. Tell him it is normal, and he will soon have a growth spurt and match up with the girls.

It doesn't matter as long as his pediatrician is not concerned. Michael Jordan was really short until he got to college. Boys don't all grow at the same rate.

My son is 15 and about 5'9". considering that he is only 11, he's about average for his age. Tell him not to worry, height isn't all it's cracked up to be! Generally, boys will hit a growth spurt from the age of 12 - 15 and it's a huge one! Tell him to make sure he's eating good and getting sleep.
