Well, in my opinion a nine year old might like a Bratz Doll. I mean they are advertised on TV enough, there must be something that young girls like about them, right?
Get her a nice art kit or a craft kit. I think she'd love to make something...like a beaded bracelet, scarf, painting etc. They have some cute kids art kits at Michaels and Joann Fabric. I think artsy type gifts are the best for kids because it's usually unique and even if someone else gets the same thing...it only makes the project or craft better! Most kids do enjoy arts and crafts around that age- especially girls.

Bratz dolls are ALL the rage with kid girls these days. My little sisters go crazy for them. Why, I haven't a clue, but they do.
i think it depends on what she likes. but i think that all girls like dressing up, so why not buy her some play makeup or a craft thing where she can make her own jewellery with beads.(not sure what its called)my next doors 9yr old daughter loves bratz dolls so maybe she would like some of them.
The first person is right, girls this age love to make things. They have lots of craft kits out now that are just for girls. I think one company that makes lots of girly craft things is Klutz (or maybe it's spelled Clutz).
Lego or some pegs.
I have 8 year old twin girls. You really need to think about what she might like. I bet she already has several art sets, and just as many Bratz dolls. If she lives close to you-how about a special night out-her choice. Or you can make it easy on everybody and give her cash or a gift card to the mall. Kids love having their own money.
A nice stuffed animal might be a good choice. Thats what my niece asked us for and she'll be nine in January; or maybe the Littlest Pet Shop toys that was on her list as well. Good luck.

Anything that has been recently released to video might be good.
Or better yet, give her a homemade gift card that says something like "good for one afternoon out with dinner and a movie with Aunt whover"
