Where can I find occasional babysitter for 11 yr old boy w/ADHD/other behavioral disorders in Marietta, GA?

Answer:
Apply for respite care... It can be helpful if you have a child that is hard to care for. My neighbor uses it for her daughter. She goes once a week with a lady who picks her up for 3 hours. Then on the weekend she picks her up for 8 hours, Saturday or Sunday.
Try craigslist. There is a special needs forum on there too.
Have you tried asking the school? Or try cathy cox office, they have the special ed, main office in the State of Georgia Board of Education. They may be able to assist you. I live north of canton and my twins have spec. needs I will ask their spec. ed. teach if they know of any resource number they can get you in contact with. I would start at the State board of ed though for now...Good luck.
You could check your local YMCA, or perhaps put an ad in the paper.
I would check out any local college or universities for med/nurse/or counseling students who may be at least informed and might be willing to babysit.
I suggest you find someone who has expierence dealing with such behavioral disorders or you could find yourself looking for a new sitter every time you need one.
