Is it normal for my 5.1/2 year old boy to wet his bed once in a way, atleast 2-3 times a month?

I it is out of the way- any suggestions to make him stop it.

Answer:
It is normal, I have a little boy that is going to be six soon, and he still wets the bed occasionally. We have to remember they are children still.
yes - this may be due to his being so tired and sleeping hard. My daughter did that. I used to get her up to use the bathroom before I went to bed and that made a huge dent in the frequency of it's happening. She eventually totally outgrew it.
yes...some kids don't stop until much older.. it took my son until he was about 9 to stop completely... they just need to grow out of it... he might be just a heavy sleeper...
I dont Know if it is normal but my 5yr old does the same thing. I asked the Dr. and he said it could be from stress(yes stress on a 5yr old!) He said rather going to pre-school now, Feeling stress from home(kids can tell if there parents are stressed!). He told me not to worry he will pretty much fix it on his own.
Sounds pretty normal. Some things I would look for:
1) Does he go pee right before bed? If not, make it a habit to.
2) Is he drinking right before bed? If so, not a good idea.
3) The nights he wets is he exhausted? May not have great control over his bladder if he's going to bed exhausted. Make sure he gets proper amount of sleep.
All in all, it's normal and he'll grow out of it.
I have 4 kids (3 boys) and none of them have wet the bed after 4 yrs old. I don't know if at 5 its still considered normal but it is something I would look into.
There are millions of reasons a child wets the bed, it can be a symptom of an underlying medical condition or as simple as to get attention. The link below has alot of information on bed-wetting.
Good luck.
yes normal indeed all you can do is be loving and caring take him to the doctor and buy a brand of training pants called good nites feel and looks like regular under pants
By chance, is your son's name Fuller?
this could be a medical condition in which the doctor can give you pills for they work really well. Is he going threw any major life changes such as devorce, new school? it so this is common and won't last long.
It is quite normal for a child that age to have accidents while sleeping. There is a great information place called Dr. Scott Question and Answers. The email is doctorscotts@yahoo.com
Good luck!
My kids coincidentally stopped wetting their beds when I made them wash, dry, and change the sheets, starting at age five. I promise you it will stop. Have them do it with a calm, matter of fact tone.
Yes its normal if they go to the toilet before going to bed they usually wake up dry and its something they do grow out of.
