Something as simple as that can get a young mind to working ,,,, So exposure to this sort of thing is allot more common than a person realizes and people don't bother to give it a second thought as to just how this sort of thing can effect a little boy that has developed a normal curiosity for this sort of thing ,,,, To him it's brand new and very interesting ,,,,, As a result children will play and explore with each other ,,,, Because of this they will develop a habit of masturbation that will continue for the rest of their life ,,,, And any one who tries to say they don't practice that is telling lies ,,,, There's nothing wrong with masturbation ,,,, It's a part of a persons natural development ,,,, In some circles it's even thought of as a healthy activity ,,,,, What allot of people don't realize is that children are people too ,,,, The only difference is that they are just little people but they are people none the less ,,,,They have the same functional parts as adults ,,,, Any number of things might have initiated his curiosity ,,,, Nature is one of them ,,,, television another or a womens or girls clothing magazine or catalog or what ever ,,,, If you want to limit or stop the childs exposure to this sort of thing then you had better get rid of the television and all reading material including the daily news paper that advertises ,,,, So what your 5 year old nephew has exhibited isn't abnormal at all ,,,, he's curious ,,,, but yes this is something that you should discuss with his parents ,,,, Just keep an eye on his behavior ,,,, It just might be possible that he's been exposed to something that isn't correct for a person his age ,,,, But keep in mind that exposure could have come from a playmate as well ,,,, Like I said it's natural after a certain age that children will start playing and or exploring each other ,,,, How early in life they start this behavior depends on the individual because children mature at different rates ,,,, You can plan on it though that once it starts it's going to continue to some degree or another ,,,, This is where the talents of the parent enters ,,,, Just how well and with what can the parent occupy their childs mind ,,,, In what other direction can Mom and Dad steer the childs mind even if only for a little while ,,,, There is allot of material you can read on this subject if you are interested ,,,, People should think about how much they love their children before they have them and anyone who is or will eventually become a parent should study this material as their children will be people too ,,,, Generally there are allot of parallels in a parents child hood when compared to their own children so it isn't hard for the parent to put themselves in their childs head ,,,, You could keep this episode with your nephew in mind when faced with the same thing or something similar where your own children are concerned ,,,, So don't let this situation bother you too much but keep an eye on it or inform his parents so they can ,,,, Yoda said all of this ,,,,

Well, at that age he could have just been curious and decided to explore while you were asleep. I would keep an eye on him and see if he exhibits any other unusual behavior and maybe mention it to his parents so that they can watch too.
He probably just curious about bodies. Tell him that what he's doing is inappropriate, and that it would be inappropriate for someone to do that to him. Talk to his parents about it, asking if they have explained the difference between 'good touching and bad touching'

he probably seen his parents doing it and just thought he wanted to see what his dad was looking at or does he watch things like that on TV but honestly if he was being molested those aren't the signs but you should watch him carefully if he pulls away from people or look at someone strangely or get scared when someone touches him those are some of the signs is he opened when someone is talking to him? ask yourself all these questions but just keep your eyes opened

he is young..some one he knows has probably done that and he witnissed and was thinking that was something you do..he probably didnt mean any harm..
