There's actually a good way to answer this question for your son. There's an old kids show called "the Life and Adventures of Santa Claus". It's one of those "Rudolph" type tv shows. Anyway, when my daughter asked, I expained to her that Santa is immortal. That's what they say in this tv show. When he got to be very old, they made him immortal so that he would always be around for all the children. She's been satisfied since. Unfortunately "how did he become Santa?", the kids shows display different ways.

Also, I agree with the suggestion that you start teaching him about St. Nicholas and the true meaning of Christmas. It's a beautiful story and it'll introduce him to so many other "Santa" characters. Unfortunately "how did he become Santa?", the kids shows display different ways. Discussing the story of St. Nicholas will explain most of this question for you.

I think it's terrible how many people said to tell him there's no Santa. I feel so sorry for all the kids who've been told there's no such thing. Kids grow up fast enough, give them a chance to enjoy life before you throw your selfish beliefs at them. Especially the mother who didn't want Santa to get credit for "her hard work". As long as my daughter is happy, I don't care how gets credit.

Kudos to you, Romy for letting yours be a kid and trying to find a way to explain things to your son!! Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year!!
wake up baby Santa is just a fairy tail character!
she will be 37 in one week!

I had my first kid at 16, and I have always refused to give some fat white man, the credit for me working long extra hours to pull xmas off. What plesure is in that for me? NONE.

by the way I have 4 kids and they have never been disappointed by me telling them that I am Santa.
I suggest you start talking to him about St. Nicholas and all the very interesting versions of "Santa" all over the world. My kids haven't asked yet but I learned in school about it but never question the believability of Santa. It's really interesting and lots of fun! He's just trying to learn more about him. As for how old Santa is--I'd just tell him his spirit never dies and it lives forever. No one knows how old he is because he has been around forever.
old
stop lying to your children
tell him the truth

the story of Santa is Pagan anyway based on a Laplanders magic mushroom drug cult
the laplanders followed the reindeer who ate the Amanita Muscara (mushroom of death)
they caught the urine in a dish and drank it
when they got high they tried to get to the roof by climbing the chimney and they thought of being able to fly and had loss of body feelings
this is why the flying reindeer, and the guy in the chimney
Christianity adopted many Pagan customs and celebrations ,to make the transition from Paganism to Christianity more possible for a lot of people

the Christmas tree represents the golden penis of Horus a pagan cult of phalic worship
very old -
This is what I told my daughter. No one knows Santa's real age. Or the truth behind how Santa became Santa. That its all part of the magic and mystery of the north pole! That without magic and mystery its hard to have hopes and dreams. It worked on her and she still believes!!
wow its so fake just make stuff up
i think about 75 yrs old
I def. agree w/ lindsey in that you should start talking to him about St. Nicholas.
Now that is an amazing story :)
Good luck
Santa is as old as his feet and slightly older than his teeth.
