On black friday I went to Target and bought a barbie scooter and a princess crown. My school is doing an adopt a child type thing, every little girl loves princess and barbie stuff!

If she reads well there are some awesome books. If she doesn't read well her parents can read to her. Books like CS Lewis's Narnia Series, there are also some very good books about horses what 8 year old doesn't like horses.
