When can a child return to school after having a chicken pox infection?

Answer:
Techinically speaking the chicken pox are no longer contagious once they have all scabbed over. They are less contagious once you see them as well. You can send your child back once they scab over and no longer have fever; however, for vanity sake you may wait until they are clear.
as soon as they aren't present
When the spots are crusted over.
anytime
Absolutely ALL of the chicken pox bumps must have scabbed over completely and there can be no new bumps. You also want to ensure there isn't any fever. Some schools will have your child checked by the nurse prior to attendance.
Indefinte... once child has chicken pox, it can never return to society... I lived in my mothers basement... I kinda still do...
when all the spots have scabbed over, and make sure that he/she is feeling better, no headache/fever etc..
when all the blisters are gone, your child has no temp. and feels like going, or feels well enough to get up and play. usually about a week to week and a half.
Marsa is correct. Once all of the lesions are scabbed over it is safe--the incubation period is over at that time and the school nurse will definitely check your child before he/she is allowed back into class.
When all of the pox have scabbed over and there is no sign of new ones. It is usually about a week.
I'd say after their chicken pox is over...just let him/her rest for about one more day just to make sure everything is ok :)
After all the sores have scabbed and healed, your doctor should let you know.
When the child's doctor says it's okay.
