The life span of an adult louse on a host ranges up to 30 days. During this time, the female head louse can deposit about 90 eggs. After incubating for seven to 10 days, the nits hatch and, after another 10 days, mature into adult head lice and the cycle begins again. Off the host, adult head lice can live about two to four days at 74 degrees Fahrenheit (F) and one to two days at 86 degrees. Nits will remain alive off the host for up to 10 days; they will not hatch at or below room temperature (68 degrees F).
They can survive anywhere as long as you don't kill them.

Wash all clothing/bedding in hot water and tumble dry, give everything a good cleaning/vacuum, and wash EVERYBODY'S heads well with lice shampoo if you have any doubts about infestation. Better to be safe than itchy!
And for later prevention, don't share grooming tools, hats, scarves, headphones, hair accessories...anything in the head region.

In between times use cocnut scented shampoo and conditioner they stay far away from that. That will prevent them. And if you get it treat ASAP the hair with the over the counter shmapoo clean everything car, house, bedding etc. And follow up in two weeks then use the shampoo and olive oil as followed. Good Luck
