How long does it take your kids to eat through their Halloween candy?

Answer:
My older two, 7 and 3, are allowed to have one piece in the afternoon after school and if they are REALLY good maybe one more piece as a snack after supper. Whatever isn't gone by Thanskgiving gets thrown out.
They never get a chance to eat all of it. I get rid of it.
A year, they are not big on candy they just like to dress up and go trick or treating.
It always took me until almost Christmas...so about 6 weeks.
I still have candy now and I probably will get rid of it soon.
That's so funny that you asked that because I just threw my sons away and when he came home from school he wanted some and I had to tell him that bugs had gotten in it and I had to throw it away.
they want the candy for about a week after halloween then they forget we have it and don't want it so i throw it out in the middle of nov every year.
My daughter is only 2, so it's not an issue yet. I take her out, but it's more for the experience. Last year she didn't have any, she was too young and had no teeth. This year, I give her a piece every now and then. She gets goodies sometimes at the sitters or at Grandma's, so I don't give her much at home. I don't want her at a point where she's eating more junk than actual food. And at this age, if she doesn't see it, she doesn't think to ask about it yet. If she gets candy at other holidays, a lot of times I put it in the freezer and get some out later.
A couple months. I let them pick candy out when they are acting nice at home, or as potty rewards for my younger child.
I usually let them gorge a little on halloween night, obviously with a limit. The rest I tend to use to my advantage and they get it for good behaviour good grades etc. I don't like to make eating junk food a daily occurance so it works out better when they earn it.
I have five kids so there is still heaps left but ill probably throw it out by next week,it goes off otherwise.
I do the same thing you do. I have a HUGE salad bowl in my cabinet full of candy. It's mostly gum now, though.
