i am not sure if anyone is familiar with some stores selling balloons in a pck that comes with a small air pump --- anyway my sone ca,e to me and told me that he pumped air into his ear. should i be worried?

Yes... have it looked at and have a hearing test done. He could have done serious damage, resulting in hearing loss.
does it hurt him?
Air isn't a problem unless it was forceful and ruptured something. He would feel it i imagine as the ear is a pretty sensitive area.
I don't think you should unless his ear begins to hurt or he complains of something off.
The ear is so sensative if he has done anything serious you will know in a few hours.
Talk to him and calm him... and yourself. He wont die and even a burst eardrum can be handled by a competent doctor. CALM
just if he gets dizzy and stuff, 'cause then he may have a inner ear problem which affects your balance
