I need info on kids who formerly potty trained might poop their pants in late grade school years 7-12)?
Answer:
My little boy is vey private..not to mention a germ phobic. He won't go to the restroom at school. We've had a couple of occasions where he simply couldn't hold it until he got home....I've tried to be sure he takes time out before school to use the restroom. It may be that your child is embarassed to do his business in community restrooms.
um. what do ya need to know about it?
Physiological infections (viral, parasitic, bacterial) could cause the child to be sick, making them believe they have gas when they actually need to make a bowel movement. Emotional problems (attention seeking behavior, abuse, stress at home) could also cause incontinence.
Specific physiological infections could include pinworms, food poisioning (stapholococcus aureus, shigella, etc.) could cause a child to poop in their pants. Some kids just do not know that they need to go to the bathroom, or ignore it-- this is anal retentiveness (in the truest sense, not in the vernacular). Can you give more information if there is a specific case here?
What are you asking? Do you want to know about children who all of the sudden start pooping their pants in the 7th through the 12th grade. If so, then that child needs to see a shrink.
Find out if there is a reason why he/she is afraid to use the bathrooms at the school. Maybe they are trying to hold it in instead of using the bathroom if there is something or someone intimidating them from using the facilities.
My son did this once or twice in school..they were at recess and the teachers were to lazy to walk inside with him to the bath room after i got to the bottom of this it was resolved..but now still sometimes if what he is doing at the moment is more important to him he will hold it and when he can anylonger its too late for him...maybe his/her muscles down in that area weak??
